Frits Wentink - Spiritual Basslines
Frits Wentink has long been a steady force in the Dutch electronic scene, known for pairing dusty textures with off-kilter grooves and a sly sense of humor. Since his debut in 2012, he’s released a steady stream of low-slung house and leftfield electronics on labels like Wolf Music, Triphouse, and Heist Recordings. Whether operating solo or steering his imprints Will & Ink and Bobby Donny, Wentink has remained committed to a warm, analog, and slightly eccentric sound that’s uniquely his own.
Spiritual Basslines, the lead cut from his latest Clone Royal Oak EP, is deceptively simple. Warm pads pulse gently, while a rubbery bassline locks in with shuffling percussion. There’s a spaciousness to the arrangement—a sense of breathing room that lets each element interact and unfold with ease. It’s a subtle yet refined evolution of the deep house aesthetic he’s spent over a decade shaping.
